Films: Stake Land (2010), Stake Land 2: The Stakelander (2016)
Alias: Various, notably Jedediah Loven and the Mother
Type: Unknown, possibly Mystical
Location: Civilized Area
Height/Weight: That of average humans.
Affiliation: Evil
Summary: We've seen the world get overrun by zombies. Others by aliens. And yes, we've seen it get taken over by vampires. But in this world, deciding which side you're on isn't about money or being alone this time. It's just a choice. One that the vampires will make for you if you let them.
History: Due to an unknown cataclysm, most likely a viral plague, a good chunk of the world's population has been turned into savage vampires. There are those who would defend themselves and others from the blood-sucking beings, and then there's the Brotherhood, a fanatical militia that sees the plague as an act of God, and has a lot of vamps under their beck and call. Now, the survivors are on a quest to find New Eden, or literally Canada. But as they get closer to their destination, the vampires get stronger and even smarter.
Notable Kills: Nothing special.
Final Fate: The Brotherhood's leader, Jebediah Loven, turns himself into an intelligent vampire, and is staked for being such an obstacle. Later, a vampire matriarch known as the Mother tries to exact vengeance on the hunters, but she's killed too. Either way, the battle between the mortal and the fanged rages on.
Powers/Abilities: Enhanced strength and agility. Also, if you get bit, you become one.
Weakness: Stakes, though heavy artillery does just fine.
Scariness Factor: 4-These vampires will leave you in dire need of a mop to get all the bloodstains off the floor. Having devolved into pure predators, most of the vamps out there will kill anything that gets in their way. And worse, the evilest of them happen to be the most cunning and sane. Bring your stakes, because here, the night lasts forever.
Trivia: -As a form of marketing, several prequel shorts were released on the internet, detailing things like the start of the plague and several major characters' backstories.
-The vampire makeup took two hours to do at a time for the first film.
